APJ Abdul Kalam is one of the proudest scientists of India. He is the 11th President of India, a unique example of inspiration to the people not only for India but also for the world.

 

Life History

A P J Abdul Kalam’s life story is now in a position to research for his outstanding career not only in India but also all over the world. His life is full of dramas and a great motivation for the young people.

 

Abdul Kalam's Birth and Childhood

Abul Pakir Zainul-Abedin Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in a Muslim family in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, India. His father's name was Joynal Abedin who was a boatman. His mother’s name was Ashiamma. They were too much poor. Abdul Kalam had to take care of his family since childhood. He used to earn money by selling newspapers being a little child. But he did not complain to his parents.


Education life of Abdul Kalam

He started his education at Ramnathpur Squares Matriculation School. He was not a very good quality student. But as a normal learner his focus on education was strong. He worked very hard. For a long time he studied a various subjects. Mathematics was his favourite subject.

After school education, he graduated from St. Joseph's College in 1954 with a degree in physics. The following year, in 1955, he moved to Chennai and began studying aeronautics. He dreamed of becoming an Indian Air Force man since his school days. Despite dreaming of becoming an airplane pilot, he could not fulfill his dream of becoming an airplane pilot.

 

Great contribution

Employed by the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) he managed the project well there but did not like the job and left. In 1982, he joined the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and successfully engaged in various space planning and operations. For his full-time contribution, he was able to successfully launch India's first satellite, Rohini. He was assigned to various jobs at the Indian research institute ISRO and due to all his activities he was able to become a member of the International Press Club. He was called to the US space agency and he went there but refused to work. Instead, he was able to successfully build India's first nuclear missile in collaboration with India's famous scientist Ranna. In 1996, under his leadership, he was able to successfully test an atomic bomb for the second time.

He has been called the Missile Man of India because of his immense contribution to the development of ballistic missiles and space rocket for civilian space research for the Indian Army.


11th President of India

Noticing his deep respect for India, his great contribution and the respect of the people towards him, the then government declared him as a candidate for the post of President of India. He was unanimously elected President of India and became the President of India in 2002.

Personal life

His personal life was very disciplined and his hobbies were giving book writing lectures. He loved children very much and always tried to teach children so that his future life would be better. He always thought that it was his life's dream to rise above the individual group and develop the country as a whole, to take the country forward.

Death of Abdul Kalam

He is both a professor writer and an aircraft technician and is called the Missile Man of India. He died on July 26, 2015 at the age of 63 from a heart attack.
