Pied Piper of Hamelin

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

Long ago, the city of Hamelin was hit by a huge problem. It was full of rats. The rats were so big and terrible that they fought with the dogs. Cats were killed and children were bitten. There was no way to save their property or even their lives from the attack of rats. So they left the city in groups. In such a situation, the mayor of the city called a meeting with famous people to find a way to solve their problems. Talks went on for a long time but to no avail. No one could solve this problem. At that time a strange man came to the meeting with a colored flute in his hand. He said he would drive the rats out of town. One thousand guilders demanded for this work. The mayor and the people present could not believe him. But they had no choice. So, finally the mayor agreed to give this newcomer a chance. He also accepted her demand. Then the strange man came out on the street. He began to play his flute. Thousands of rats jumped into the street at the sound of the flute. The man started walking and the rats started following him. There was a flowing river at the end of the road. The people of the city eagerly watched such miracles. Little did they know that the rats would join the procession. However, the flute player started walking directly towards the river side of the city. There were strong currents in the river. The flute player suddenly stopped by the river. But the rats did not stop. They jumped into the river and drowned. Thus the flute player freed the them from the destruction of the rats with the strange power of the flute.
